Assignment Title: Fotobabble
Uses in the Classroom: This tool can be used to deconstruct the four step process for evaluating a mathematical word problem. Also, this tool can be used to illustrate to students how they need to show their work in detail when taking an exam in order to receive full credit for the problem. Additionally, this tool can be utilized to list the proper words associated with adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing operations in word problems.
This tool can be used to illustrate the main parts of writing an effective research paper as well. In writing an effective paper, fotobabble can assist students in paraphrasing and citing references in the body of the paper. Lastly, fotobabble can provide students with strategies for structuring their bibliography.
Issues to Consider: In order to use fotobabble effectively, students will need access to computers, Internet access, digital photos that have been uploaded to their computer, a fotobabble account, an email address, and a stereo headset with microphone to record their voice. Additionally, students will need to be familiar with maneuvering around an Internet browser window. If these items aren't available for the students at home, they should be provided for them in the classroom.
